Chris Sigerson

Chris Sigerson is a sought-after pianist, composer and educator hailing from Vancouver, Canada who has performed with many artists over the years, such as Oliver Gannon, Ross Taggart, k.d. lang, Fraser MacPherson, Slide Hampton, Brad Turner, Phil Dwyer, Jennifer Scott, P.J. Perry, Bill Coon, Ken LIster, Campbell Ryga, Chris Gestrin, Sandy Scofield, Ernestine Anderson and Linton Garner (brother of Erroll Garner who wrote the jazz standard "Misty"). His work has been an influential force to many younger artists including Reprise recording artist Michael Bublé. Chris has been active in the jazz music scene since the 1980's, both locally and abroad. He continues to work on new material and recording projects in the studio and teaches piano in the Jazz Studies department at Capilano University. Chris’ recordings exude an exceptional subtlety and grace, a quality echoed in his son Benjamin's playing.

Marvin Records (Thorvald Records’ jazz division) is excited to present Chris’ new album “Quiet Path”, a collection of all original material co-composed by his son Benjamin and performed by long time collaborators Ken Lister, Campbell Ryga and Chris Gestrin.
